Andrea Lahana is a graduate student at Naropa University studying Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling. She has a keen interest in the intersection of psychology, spirituality, and somatic practices. More specifically, how these practices can be utilized to promote healing and transformation. Andrea’s current focus is on embodiment and the use of somatic practices as a tool for trauma resolution. She believes that by bringing awareness to the body and utilizing many different transpersonal practices, individuals can access deeper levels of healing and integration. Andrea is committed to working with individuals to facilitate their journey towards wholeness and well-being.

Her counseling journey began as a LGBTQIA+ Youth Outreach Coordinator at the Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County. Her work continued in mental health as a Behavioral Health Specialist at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Andrea is also a trauma-informed yoga teacher and holds an E-RYT 200 teacher certification with over 3000 hours of teaching experience.

As a Colorado Native, she loves to be out in nature whether that be hiking, fishing, or especially enjoying a concert at Red Rocks. She believes wholeheartedly that the ones who can help the most are the ones who have been through it themselves. Andrea offers creative, empathetic, and genuine collaboration with clients and is honored to join the Elliant Counseling team to continue her path toward licensure.
