Carrie has experience working with adolescents, adults, and families in a private practice setting. Prior to private practice, she worked as a mental health counselor at an Aurora high school. She has also worked for Griffith Centers for Children. Areas of her practice include anxiety, depression, abuse, parenting challenges, women’s issues, healthy family functioning, anger, and trauma.
Carrie’s work is informed by a combination of approaches including trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, and client-centered therapy. She believes that while our circumstances and stories are varied, we are all seeking connection, understanding, and relief. Victor Frankl’s words underscore Carrie’s work: “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
Adults and adolescents are welcome.
