Michelle earned her master’s degree from Capella University in Mental Health Counseling. She completed her residency at a residential treatment facility for women, that specialized in Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Eating Disorders, Depression, and Anxiety. She has experience working with children, adolescents and adults in community mental health, educational resource centers for veterans and students with disabilities, residential facilities and private practice.

She is passionate towards helping individuals find appropriate healing techniques, unleash their strengths, and discover their inner potential to benefit their lives positively, through emotional, cognitive and physical growth. She empowers individuals to work from within by focusing on varying approaches that are individualized to their needs.  Michelle practices with a caring, compassionate, respectable and culturally sensitive cognizance; while also assertive, challenging individuals to their greatest potential.

Michelle places emphasis on person-centered therapeutic approaches and believes that no single approach is right for every individual. She has been trained in varying modalities, while utilizing trauma informed therapeutic modalities, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, gestalt therapy, gestalt play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, active parenting, alternative to family’s cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based, body centered therapy, applied behavioral analysis, and therapeutic modalities utilizing art and music.

She has experience working with individuals through animal assisted interventions approaches including dolphins, canines, and horses.

In her free time Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, photography, exploring nature, reading, meditation, swimming, and crafting projects. She has a passion for the ocean, aquatic life, as well as mountain adventures. Michelle loves traveling and exploring other cultures values, art and music.

Michelle also utilizes a therapy dog Rex, to assist with sessions. Rex has received specialized training to become a therapy dog. He is very compassionate, affectionate, and attuned to individuals.
