Therapy & Counseling FAQ’s for our Denver Community

Your questions are important to us, which is why we have put together this page.  Please reach out to us if you have any additional needs or questions about Elliant Counseling.

What can I expect from the initial appointment?

The initial appointment is designed to get to know you and gain an understanding of what you are hoping to get out of the therapy process.  Taking the first step can be difficult.  It is normal to feel hesitant and/or nervous.  We are committed to providing a warm, inviting environment to help you feel safe and comfortable.  We will discuss confidentiality and begin to establish goals for our work together.

Does insurance cover the cost of therapy?

Most insurance companies cover a percentage of the cost.  We will provide you a reimbursement invoice with all of the information needed to fax, mail, or email your provider directly.

Why do most people seek therapy?

We all struggle at times in our lives and need support along the way.  People seek therapeutic services for various reasons.  Many people need support and guidance in relationships and to navigate family dynamics.  Life transitions such as divorce, loss of a loved one, loss of employment, moving, and a change in career can be very challenging to face alone.  Many people are seeking therapy for personal growth and emotional healing.  Therapy can be beneficial in raising personal awareness, insight, and compassion to move toward a more fulfilling life.

How can therapy help me?

The therapeutic process is tailored for your unique goals.  Our therapists have specialized training to meet your specific needs, and we will work with you to find the right fit.  Therapy can be short-term with a focus on a specific goal or more open-ended to address more complex issues.

Therapy can help:

Therapy can help optimize your unique strengths while understanding and changing negative beliefs and behaviors that have become habitual.  It can also help identify your goals, provide tools for moving toward healing, address symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, and trauma, and can help you gain personal understanding, insight, and coping skills for situational or long-standing struggles.
